Session Windows, Timeframe Alignment, and Tactical Deployment (NSE: Nifty 50 & Bank Nifty)

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
INDIAN DERIVATIVES (NSE/BSE)
Time Window (IST) Market Phase Primary Timeframe Execution Timeframe Purpose & Tactical Strategy
09:15 AM – 10:30 AM Opening Momentum 3-Minute 1-Minute Captures fast opening breakouts and heavy institutional volume. 3-min filters initial opening noise; 1-min times the entry.
10:30 AM – 01:15 PM Midday Consolidation 15-Minute / 5-Minute 5-Minute Institutional volume drops. Switch entirely to 5-min/15-min to avoid algorithmic wick sweeps and theta decay traps.
01:15 PM – 02:30 PM European Open Trend 5-Minute 1-Minute / 3-Minute Fresh liquidity enters as London/Frankfurt open. 5-min confirms the afternoon breakout or breakdown; 1-min triggers the entry.
02:30 PM – 03:30 PM Expiry / Closing Squeeze 3-Minute 1-Minute Fast short-covering or long-unwinding moves. Strict 1-min entries with tight trailing stop-losses. Exit all positions by 03:10 PM.
The 3x–5x Dual-Timeframe Mechanics

1. Higher Timeframe (The Compass)

Identifies the macro trend, market structure (higher highs or lower lows), Key Support/Resistance walls, and institutional liquidity pools. Trades are only permitted in this direction.

2. Lower Timeframe (The Trigger)

Pinpoints precise execution on micro-retests and candlestick confirmations. Allows placing stop-losses tightly behind swing extremes to achieve a minimum 1:2 Risk-to-Reward ratio.

3. Volumetric Alignment (Option Chain)

Track Change in OI (ΔOI), not cumulative OI. Focus on trapped option writers at nearest strikes. Negative Call ΔOI indicates short covering; negative Put ΔOI triggers long liquidation.

Nifty Option Chain Trading Reliability Windows

09:15 – 09:45 AM (Noise Zone)

Strict Avoidance: Exchange feeds lag; overnight hedging and margin stop-outs create deceptive open interest numbers.

10:00 – 11:30 AM (Consensus Zone)

Directional Baseline: Institutional writers have committed capital. Resistance (max Call ΔOI) and Support (max Put ΔOI) are established.

01:30 – 02:45 PM (Unwinding Zone)

Gamma Scalps: Trapped writers panic and buy back contracts. Triggers explosive multi-point expansion moves into major strikes.
